Since the early 1980s the Deepwood Gardeners and Friends of Bush Gardens have been quiet stewards of two publicly owned Lord and Schryver designed landscapes at Historic Deepwood Estate and Bush's Pasture Park. Throughout their tenure, appreciation for the work of Lord and Schryver has grown into serious study of their private and public landscape designs. What began as an informal study group in the late 1990s has blossomed into the Lord & Schryver Conservancy, a community-based non-profit (501,(c),3) organization which is affiliated with the Garden Conservancy, dedicated to the preservation of America's exceptional gardens. The L&S Conservancy is also a partner with the Oregon Cultural Trust. Any financial contribution is tax-deductible.

As the Lord & Schryver Conservancy's work to preserve and interpret the legacy of Lord and Schryver has progressed, research and community outreach have led to the discovery of a number of their gardens. The Conservancy is currently gathering an archive of documentation and photographs of these gardens which compliments their professional records housed at the University of Oregon, Knight Library. The Lord & Schryver Conservancy is an invaluable resource for preserving and interpreting the legacy of Lord and Schryver through publications, garden preservation and educational programs.
